Mission accomplished, jackass
-Headline of the Day-
"Gabrielle Giffords' Arizona shooting prompts resignations."
While Republicans are poo-pooing the idea that violent political rhetoric is anything to worry about, other Republicans are worrying about all the violent political rhetoric. Specifically, members of the local Republican Party in the district where Gabrielle Gifford and twenty others were shot.
Turns out that if you ain't a 'bagger, you're a RINO. And if you're a RINO, you're looking over your shoulder -- if you're smart. "Today my wife of 20 years asked me do I think that my PCs [Precinct Committee members] will shoot at our home?" wrote District Chairman Anthony Miller to state Republican Party chair Randy Pullen, explaining his resignation. According to the report, "He said constant verbal attacks after [his election to district chairman] and Internet blog posts by some local members with Tea Party ties made him worry about his family's safety."
The problem? Miller backed McCain over teabagging lunatic J.D. Hayworth. That's it. I guess that makes him a commie and a traitor. Clearly, he must die.
And Miller isn't the only one fleeing. We're told "several others" are joining him. But Miller really has it the worst. According to the report, "The first and only African-American to hold the party's precinct chairmanship, Miller said he has been called 'McCain's boy,' and during the campaign saw a critic form his hand in the shape of a gun and point it at him."
"I wasn't going to resign but decided to quit after what happened Saturday," Miller said. "I love the Republican Party but I don't want to take a bullet for anyone."
Is Tea Party rhetoric too violently irresponsible? Pffft! It worked, didn't it? It was just violently irresponsible enough. (Arizona Republic)
