Stories to Watch: 5/8/12

Big primary tonight here in Wisconsin. I went to vote (which was why I missed the roundup) and it was smooth sailing. I'll probably post about the results later, but I don't expect this to be an all night nailbiter. Now here's the news...

Mitt Romney gave a big speech in Michigan today. True to form, he made sure it was peppered with lies.

The anti-austerity win in France is freaking American Republicans out a little.

The religious right's War on Women is very, very real.

Dick Morris is a clown.

David Brooks wrote something stupid again.

Matt Lewis reports that Republican new media guru Pat Hynes has joined Team Romney. Why you should care: Hynes also worked for McCain/Palin and created a minor scandal when it was discovered he was basically being paid to write blog posts about how awesome John McCain was and win over the base to the candidate. In other words, Hynes is a dishonest propagandist -- a perfect fit for Romney's campaign of lies.

Republicans suck at creating jobs. Loving bass-ackward economic theories comes with a hefty price.

Santorum finally endorses Romney. The words "enthusiastic" will never be used to describe that endorsement.

Tea Party activists are real idiots.

Finally, a newsletter for a Virginia Republican group calls for armed revolution in the event of Obama's reelection. I've got news for you guys; if you don't love democracy, you don't love America.
