Stories to Watch: 3/25/14

The Orwellian nature of modern conservatism is apparent as the Supreme Court's conservative majority seems eager to strike down the Obamacare contraception mandate. The argument is that forcing employers to offer health plans that cover contraception is an affront to religious liberty. The reality is that employers forcing women to conform to their religious beliefs is religious tyranny. Conservatives like to talk about freedom and liberty all the time, but the truth is that they aren't fond of the concepts in practice. Authoritarian to the bone, they like the opposite.

Case in point: an eight-year-old girl has been expelled from a Christian school in Virgina because she doesn't conform to "biblical standards." The problem; short hair and a tom boy bent in clothing choices. "She cries every morning to get on the bus, she cries when she comes home because she wants to go back to Timberlake Christian with her friends," her grandmother says. On the bright side, she isn't being taught by intolerant, judgmental asses -- meaning she'll likely turn out to be a much better person than her peers a the school.

Don't look now, but there's more private school assholery in Colorado.

Congressional candidate Susanne Atanus most definitely does not have the confidence of the Illinois Republican Party. The Tea Party has apparently outlived its usefulness.

Scott Brown has apparently decided that you can run for Senate without actually having positions on things.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker sticks his finger in the wind and switches messaging on Obamacare.

Finally, a George Washington University poll shows that the generic congressional ballot is a tie, which doesn't foretell wonderful things for Democrats.
