The Stuff I Didn't Get To -- 5/16/07

Bye bye, Jerry

-That's not the guy you want to be stealing from-
John McCain in the second GOP presidential debate: "We went to Washington to change government. Instead, government changed us."

Tommy Thompson in the first GOP presidential debate: "We went to Washington to change Washington. Washington changed us."

Yes, that's the same Tommy Thompson who blamed a stupid debate response about gays on having to go to the bathroom really bad. Way to pick a winner to steal from, John. (Political Wire)

-Thanks for the memories-
A few more parting words from Jerry Falwell (hum Green Day's Time of Your Life for full effect):

-From an article called Parents Alert: Tinky Winky Comes Out of the Closet: "He is purple - the gay-pride colour; and his antenna is shaped like a triangle - the gay-pride symbol."

-"I think [Desmond Tutu]'s a phony, period, as far as representing the black people of South Africa."

-"AIDS is not just God's punishment for homosexuals; it is God's punishment for the society that tolerates homosexuals."

-"The Jews are returning to their land of unbelief. They are spiritually blind and desperately in need of their Messiah and Savior."

-"Grown men should not be having sex with prostitutes unless they are married to them."

Follow the link. There are plenty more where those came from. (Evangelical Right)

-Ask the expert-
King Kaufman writes Tinky Winky's response to Falwell's death: "'Oh dear, it's easy to say the wrong thing here,' he said. 'Tinky Winky sad whenever someone dies, but...' He left it hanging there." (Salon)
