The Stuff I Didn't Get To -- 10/5/07

Chris Matthews demonstrates his only skill

-Headline of the day-
"Bush White House has tried to silence Chris Matthews." It's almost hard to blame them. Still, vaccuous, perpetually over-excited, loudmouthed blowhard Matthews says that White House officials, especially from the office of Vice President Cheney, have "called MSNBC brass to complain about the content of his show and attempted to influence its editorial content."

"They will not silence me!" Matthews declared on Hardball's 10th anniversary show. Dude, the vaccuum of space couldn't silence you. Try knocking it back a couple of thousand decibels for a change. Oh, and welcome to what every other damned show on earth has had to put up with for years. Nice that you got around to complaining about it after it happened to you.

This is the guy who, after George W. Bush's big "Mission accomplished" speech, shouted, "He won the war. He was an effective commander. Everybody recognizes that, I believe, except a few critics... He looks for real... [H]e didn't fight in a war, but he looks like he does... We're proud of our president... Women like a guy who's president. Check it out. The women like this war. I think we like having a hero as our president." While I can't prove it, I think he creamed his pants. He's also the guy who, as a judge in the Miss America Pageant, asked Miss D.C. where Osama bin Laden was. Brilliant, he's not.

Welcome to the real world, Chris. Somehow, I doubt you'll stay long. (Think Progress)

-Shocking FOX News exposé!-
Completely unbiased news outlet FOX News caught Barack Obama walking around in public without a flag pin in his lapel, so they ran this photo on their front page all day:
