Too sexy for the Iowa State Fair

-Nifty-
Volkswagen has announced that every single model they offer will soon have a hybrid option, "with some models hybrid-ready as early as next year." According to the report, "Volkswagen wants to make sure we still see their name near the top of every fuel efficiency list released."

Good on them. (Go Sun Solutions, via reddit)

-Headline of the day-
"Blackwater contractor wrote government report on incident." That's right, the report on a "shoot at everything that moves!" incident in Iraq was written by the company that shot everything that moved. I'd compare this to being able to write your own parking ticket (or not writing it, if you so choose), but no one ever dies when I park in a no parking zone. (CNN)

-Bonus HotD-
"Fair Board may banish erotic corndog contest." The Iowa State Fair may have to do without an erotic corndog eating contest in the future. The thing's a stunt put on by Des Moines radio station KGGO. Whether the corndogs or the eaters are the erotic part isn't spelled out in the article, but use your imagination and you'll see how this thing works.

Also unmentioned was the name of the contest. If it's not "Horndogs with Corndogs," someone needs to be fired. (Des Moines Register)
