The Stuff I Didn't Get To -- 11/30/07

Adam M. Key showing off his skin art
A student from Pat Robertson's university... No, really

-Wouldn't have been my first guess-
Who's the guy in the photo? That'd be Adam M. Key, a student at Pat Robertson's Regent University. That's the same college that pretty much the entire Bush Justice Dept. comes from.

The tattooed Key has, not as surprisingly, gotten into a little hot water over his Facebook page, which features a photo of his alma mater's founder seeming to give the finger (it's a frame from a video where Pat uses a poorly chosen finger to scratch -- image here or, failing that, here). On discovering the photo, the university ordered that he apologize. Key, who describes himself as a "liberal Christian" refused. Then, they ordered that he "undergo a mental-health evaluation" before being allowed to return to classes -- because, of course, anyone who doesn't treat Pat Robertson with the utmost respect must be mental or something. When he refused again and was suspended, Key sued.

According to the report, "Because the private university receives federal funds, it is required under the U.S. Higher Education Act to respect students' freedom of religion and expression." According to his suit, "Adam relied on Regent's many claims of religious liberty and speech" and was, therefore, "fraudulently induced" to attend Regent.

Soak 'em, Adam. (Right Wing Watch, AP)

-Wouldn't have been my first guess here, either-
A salary list published by The Hollywood Reporter shows the top-earning film actresses in Hollywood and, it's probably safe to say, the world. At the top of this list are names you'd expect; Angelina Jolie, Cameron Diaz, Nicole Kidman, etc. But the top-earning actress is...

Reese Witherspoon.

For real.

You totally guessed wrong. (VOA)

-Headline of the day-
"Disgraced Kerik vouches for Rudy's character."

Well, that clears everything up then... (Think Progress)
