The Stuff I Didn't Get To -- 3/26/08

Barack Obama
Secretly a liberal

-[reddit] Headline of the day-
"What's Wrong With Liberal? Hillary is saying people will be turned off by Obama’s liberalism, JESUS FUCKING CHRIST YOU’RE RUNNING AS A DEMOCRAT!"

From the post at The Mental Masturbator (I don't name 'em, folks, I just report 'em), "I just read an article in the Washington Post about how Obama is being branded as a liberal. Oh no! A Democrat has left-wing positions! Of course, if he didn’t have left-wing positions would he even be a Democrat?"

Apparently not. A "good Democrat" these days seems to be someone willing to shovel the crap that Republicans used to. I refer you to a post I wrote in February about an introduction Hillary got from union president Tom Buffenbarger.

Just to refresh your memory, Buffenbarger had this to say; "Give me a break! I've got news for all the latte-drinking, Prius-driving, Birkenstock-wearing, trust fund babies crowding in to hear [Barack Obama] speak! This guy won't last a round against the Republican attack machine. He's a poet, not a fighter." Throw in "tree-hugging" and "terrorist-coddling" and Rush Limbaugh sues for copyright infringement.

The third annual Intelligence Community Employee Climate Survey finds that employees at the CIA are unhappy. It seems that the spy agency is a really lousy place to work. Among the study's findings:

-Percentage who agree that steps are taken to deal with poor job performers who cannot or will not improve: 28
-Percentage who say pay raises reflect job performance: 28
-Percentage who say promotions are based on merit: 41
-Percentage satisfied with ability to advance: 46
-Percentage who say that leaders generate motivation and commitment in workers: 45
-Percentage satisfied with policies and practices of senior leaders: 47

I think it's time to unionize... (MoJo Wire)

-Quote of the day-
I hope it was just a misstatement, but with these guys, you never know. White House press secretary Dana Perino on the US reaction to the Chinese crackdown in Tibet:

MS. PERINO: I hadn’t heard about that development. What I can tell you is that last night Secretary Rice spoke to the Chinese Foreign Minister to very directly reiterate our views and concerns about the situation and told the Chinese that we would urge restraint in dealing with protestors, to refrain from non-violence and then Secretary Rice informed the President this morning of that conversation.

"Hey, China, quit that wimpy-assed non-violence! Invade! That's what we'd do..." (Crooks and Liars, with clip)
