"Udall wants parties together at SOTU."
Democratic Colorado Senator Mark Udall has a solution to the rancid partisanship tearing America apart -- Republicans and Democrats should sit together. Seems a little more symbolic than anything else (a point Udall concedes), but there ya go.
"Beyond custom, there is no rule or reason that on this night we should emphasize divided government, separated by party, instead of being seen united as a country," he says of the seating arrangements during the State of the Union.
Udall argues that the "choreographed standing and clapping of one side of the room -- while the other side sits -- is unbecoming of a serious institution." OK, you got me there. That is dumb. Besides, it makes it way too easy on pundits.
Added bonus: if it looks like Joe Wilson is about to say something, both parties can display unity by wrestling him to the ground and jamming a sock in his mouth. (Politico)

Remember, the problem isn't pistols with clips so large no sane person would ever even see the need for one. The problem is words. When the First Amendment butts heads with the Second Amendment, the Second Amendment wins -- just like the founders intended! (MarkFiore.com)
